Crafter New factory Grand Opening Ceremony 14th May 2009 Official Press Release The Crafter guitar company opened its new factory on the 14th of May with a Grand Opening Ceremony attended by distributors from countries around the world. The new factory is located a short drive from Seoul, the capital of Korea, and the purpose built facility provides increased capacity for Crafter to grow its acoustic guitar business and give it the potential for future expansion into the electric guitar market. This is a confident leap into the future for a major Korean manufacturer where many competitors have relocated to lower cost regions, notably China. But Crafter President, InJae Park, has stressed how important it was to retain the skills of his workforce and this could only have been achieved by building the new factory in the same area as previously located. Park is quoted as saying “retaining our skilled craftsmen and providing them with state of the art machines in a climate controlled environment enables Crafter to maintain its ongoing quest for quality at affordable prices. Much of our manufacturing process requires hand crafting and the skill and experience of our people is a major part of our success”.
